One Thousand and Four

In the bowl, is egg number One Thousand.  I don’t know which egg it is or which Lady laid it.  Very impressive for 5 hens who aren’t even a year old.

I brought home baby chicks April 4th 2012.  Why did I get chickens?

I got my first egg August 4th 2012.  Backyard eggs.

  1. You should mention something about your turned bowls. I like that one. Congratulations on 1000!

  2. Congratulations! That is awesome. I can’t wait until we hit one-thousand.
And I like the turned bowl, my husband has a lathe and makes many beautiful things with it, including bowls. My favorite are the ones with a lot of character from the tree. That bowl you made has some amazing character to it. Love it!

  3. I thought this was to be my blog about my garden and my chickens. Thank you for the comments on my bowl, it does have a lot of character because it was turned from a partially rotted stump, I think maple.
